My Chip

Today I received an e-mail that said “If I asked you what your biggest motivation is, what would you say?”

My motivation is, quite simply, that I need to prove people wrong.  I have a huge, somewhat debilitating chip on my shoulder which means that when somebody tells me I can’t, or won’t, do something I develop an overwhelming passion to do it.  They told me that I wouldn’t make it through last year at college, and one of the best things that I’ve ever done was stick a big FU status on Facebook when I walked out for summer with an A.  They imply that I’m stupid, well I’m sorry but I’m not, I’m really not.  Don’t believe me?  Let me prove it, because quite frankly you’re just making me angry.  Not good enough for university?  5 conditionals this year. You can try to tell me that I won’t get a job if I don’t go to university, but watch me.

It doesn’t always work of course, because sometimes I know you’re right…but you’re not normally.
